50 shades of red_4

Hello

I just remembered February doesn't have as many - oops! so I'd better post this before it's too late for AJJ 50 shades of red hosted by the lovely Linda of heARTfully inspired.
Its been a great month and the red theme was a lovely tonic for all our wintery grey days here - thanks Linda :)

I was inspired by a quote on one of Valeries fabulous pages  which said ' I am currently unsupervised - the possibilities are endless'. The  word 'unsupervised' really made me smile..... here's what I created.
I used a gelli print for the background and took the bird from one of my pages and made a digital page. The woman was a line drawing I did years ago and so I digitally coloured that in. The sun and rainbow are made with digital chalk brushes.

Thanks so much for stopping by
Have a great day.

50 shades of red_2 and a Bookworm Tag

Hello

It's Thursday again - suddenly the week is going fast, but not so on Monday and Tuesday when it couldn't have gone much slower as we had workmen in fitting a new gas boiler and flushing radiators.
A fair bit of noise and upheaval indoors but at least that job is now done and now I think that a few days of some arty playing is due :)

but first.. a tag for the Bookworm theme at Tag Tuesday  chosen by the lovely Chrissie from Jumbled Crafts
I've made my tag flat so that I can use it as a bookmark - I have lots of arty books that have bits of scrap paper sticking out from them marking pages - so this will be useful.
I used a stamp set from The Works. Background coloured with Inktense pencils and Promarkers. Drew the worm on paper and cut him out, coloured with promarkers, pencils and Stabilo all pencils.

Lastly another page for  50 shades of red at AJJ hosted this month by the lovely  Linda K of heARTfully inspired

This is a mix of real art and digital.
Font Lexographer and few digital elements from Laitha's Designs 'Crafty Essentials'.

Over the New Year Dave and I played a silly but fun childhood game - not sure of the name - but you draw a head of some kind, fold it over so you can then only see a neck  - swap papers and draw a body to join the head - fold over and swap and then then do feet and legs which when you unfold the papers you get some really weird looking creatures. Well I found a way for me to do a few at a time - draw the heads and then go off and do something else and then come back and carry on etc until completed.

below is my original art work before the digital alterations using a mix of water colour paints, Stabilo all pencils and Aquamarkers.

Thanks for stopping by,
hope you're having a great day.

50 shades of red

Hi

Another week flown by - hope you've had a good one.

Linda K  from HeARTfully inspired is the February guest host at AJJ and has the wonderful theme called 50 shades of red
The weather in the UK is pretty grey and miserable at present, so playing with this colour really warmed and cheered me up.

Using Craft Artist software I added the words and a few other digital elements and effects to the photo of my original journal page.  The digital elements are from a kit by Laitha's Designs called 'Craft Essentials' and the font is called 'Ransom'.
Below is the original page and I used mainly Derwent art bars and Stabillo all pencils for this. Some of the texture was rubbing the bars on the page with a Fiskars texture plate underneath.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hope you have a lovely weekend.
